Live Oak, Texas was incorporated in 1960. Set amid gently-rolling hills, enjoying that trademark Texas sunshine, Live Oak has evolved from a rich agricultural and ranching tradition. Today, you will find lovely residential areas, numerous shopping centers, a major hospital, college campuses, and more. It’s such a great place to live, as a matter of fact, that nearly half of the inhabitants have lived in Live Oak for over a decade. New families with young children have recently found Live Oak to be a great place to live, just far enough outside of the hustle and bustle of San Antonio. It has become a very family-friendly community with kids and parents often seen riding bikes on the well-kept streets or children can be found playing sports in the local common areas.
In the summer, it does not get better than Live Oak Pool. The pool is large and maintained by the city. They offer pool party reservations, accommodating up to 100 people. While parties in the pool can only be held during pool season, the clubhouse is climate controlled functions and wheelchair accessible making it a perfect spot for a party – all throughout the year. The town’s newly renovated pavilion with extensive views of the Live Oak Lake can also be rented for parties and events. The community also maintains lovely parks, beautiful historical sites, and other amenities that any suburbanite would desire.
Of course, for kids, the summer is all about swim trunks, flip-flops, and tank tops but the town of Converse’s library is a great place for kids to keep cool, and out of trouble, in the hot summer months. It is also a great way to keep them learning and engaged to avoid losing their knowledge over the summer. The library holds an extensive assortment of activities/classes/etc. for all ages including:
